Carmichael Outreach

An overnight warming center has opened at Carmichael Outreach and will be accessible seven days a week from 11pm to 7am for people who need a safe place to go. Glen Elm has committed to helping with food and drinks for 60 once a month over the winter.  Email Kelli at the office if you can help out.

Soupbowl Sunday

Soupbowl Sunday is a collaborative project between The Comeback Society and The Regina Foodbank. A team gathers on a weekly basis to make and provide our community with a hot meal. They make over 300 meals and distribute them in two locations in Regina - Pepsi Park and Victoria Park.

To get involved in serving at the Pepsi Park location, email the office for the sign up sheet. We meet at the Food Bank at 3:30, load up meals and head to the park for 4:00. We set up tables and serve the community soup, sandwiches, bannock, drinks and warm winter wear, typically finishing before 5:00.

Community Fridges

A Community Fridge is a type of 'free store' that is from the community, for the community. It is 100% community owned, used and maintained.

Regina has 3 fridges:

1. Cathedral Community Fridge - 2104 Garnet Street - in the parking lot of Holy Rosary Cathedral

2. Regina Community Fridge - 3037 Dewdney Ave - behind the pharmacy on Dewdney & Cameron St

3. Heritage Community Fridge - 1510 12th Ave - Next to Carmichael Outreach

Food insecurity is a growing problem in our city. Several times a year we collect fridge and pantry items as a church and deliver to the fridges.  Food can be dropped off anytime and there are other ways to get involved including: picking up flash food items or joining the cleaning team (15 min training provided). Contact the fridge teams directly through social media or email the office for more info.
